Wingstop (NASDAQ: WING) is leaning hard into football-season foodservice demand with two new Lemon Pepper flavor extensions and a first-of-its-kind subscription-style Wing Pass, both timed to the 2026 NFL regular season.

The New Flavors

Wingstop is expanding its Lemon Pepper platform — long its most-identified dry-rub flavor — into three distinct expressions. Original Lemon Pepper stays unchanged: zesty lemon, cracked black pepper, dry-rubbed finish. The two additions lean into Korean pantry influences. Lemon Pepper Chili Crunch layers the original dry rub with crispy Korean chili crunch for added texture and slow heat. Lemon Pepper Chili Glaze swaps the dry application for a saucy citrus-forward glaze, also finished with Korean chili crunch. All three are available across classic and boneless wings and will be paired with the chain's housemade ranch. The trio opens exclusively to Club Wingstop loyalty members on Sept. 10, then launches nationwide at participating U.S. locations on Sept. 15 for a limited run.

The Korean chili-crunch trend has moved steadily from grocery retail into foodservice over the past two years, appearing on menus at both fast-casual and QSR operators. For a wing-focused chain, it offers a credible on-trend differentiator without requiring significant back-of-house process changes — a practical advantage given Wingstop's predominantly franchised system, where approximately 98% of units are brand-partner operated.

The Wing Pass Play

The more operationally novel move is the Wing Pass, which functions as a season-long bundle commitment sold to Club Wingstop loyalty members. Priced at $27.99 — matching the one-time price of a single Watch Party Bundle — the pass delivers 18 consecutive Sunday bundle offers, each including 20 classic wings in up to four flavors, a large fry, and a large ranch. Passholders receive a new offer through the Wingstop app each Sunday morning throughout the 18-week regular season. Only 100 Wing Passes are available, sold via wingshop.com beginning Sept. 10 at noon CT.

The format borrows from the sports season-ticket model and functions as a high-frequency loyalty mechanism. By anchoring redemption to Sunday mornings through the app, Wingstop drives weekly active engagement with its digital platform and captures predictable group-order volume during peak game-day windows. For multi-unit franchisees, high-volume Sunday ordering tied to loyalty redemptions can represent meaningful incremental throughput — particularly in markets where group catering and watch-party ordering are already established behaviors.

Context for Operators

Wingstop reported more than $5.0 billion in system-wide sales in fiscal 2025, underlining the scale at which these LTO and loyalty mechanisms operate. The chain's growth to more than 3,000 global locations has been fueled largely by franchise expansion, and keeping brand partners' ticket averages and visit frequency elevated between core menu cycles is a persistent strategic priority. Football-season LTOs and loyalty activations are a proven lever across the broader QSR-at-retail foodservice segment as well, with operators from convenience chains to fast casual increasingly timing limited-run flavor launches to the NFL calendar to capture incremental group orders.

Michael Skipworth, President and CEO of Wingstop, called Lemon Pepper "an iconic flavor" and framed the trio as the brand's "biggest play yet for the rituals that make football season so special."
