Peter Piper Pizza](https://www.peterpiperpizza.com) is deploying a $1 million arcade overhaul across all of its Arizona and New Mexico locations — more than 40 stores in total — while simultaneously launching three limited-time menu items designed to drive incremental traffic and check size. The dual investment signals a deliberate push by the CEC Entertainment-owned chain to compete on the full family-entertainment-dining experience as the casual-dining and family-entertainment-center categories face intensifying headcount pressure.

The Arcade Investment

More than 100 new games and claw-arcade machines are rolling into all Peter Piper locations in Arizona and New Mexico by the end of August 2026. Titles span licensed tentpoles — Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers Pusher Single, Spider-Man Pusher Single, SpongeBob Ticket Coaster — alongside evergreen fare such as Monopoly Roll-N-Go, NBA Gametime and Ring Toss Jr. The breadth of the title mix reflects a deliberate effort to appeal across age brackets, from young children drawn to ticket redemption to older kids and adults chasing licensed IP. For a 115-unit chain competing against larger entertainment-dining rivals, a systemwide hardware refresh at this scale represents a meaningful per-unit capital commitment.

New Menu Items and Deals

On the food side, three limited-time offerings debut at participating locations in Arizona, Albuquerque, N.M., and Mesquite, Texas. Cheddar Dippers — made-from-scratch dough brushed with garlic butter, stuffed with cheddar and a choice of bacon or jalapeños, then baked — target the shareable appetizer occasion that has become a key traffic driver in family-dining foodservice. A returning Mandarin Cranberry Salad (mixed greens, mandarin oranges, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, poppy seed vinaigrette) covers the lighter-option guest. Strawberry Crunch, a warm scratch-dough dessert with strawberry spread, icing drizzle and sweet streusel, rounds out the LTO set with a dessert play that extends dwell time and adds a low-cost margin item.

Alongside the LTOs, the chain is running a Double Up XL deal — two extra-large one-topping pizzas for $29.99 — available for dine-in, carryout or delivery at participating U.S. locations. Value bundling of this type has proven effective at driving average-check growth in pizza-and-entertainment concepts, where the per-person spend often hinges on anchoring the food ticket before guests move to game cards.

Why It Matters for the Segment

"Families come to Peter Piper Pizza because we bring delicious food and entertainment together under one roof at a great value," said Genaro Perez, chief marketing officer of Peter Piper Pizza. "From fresh games to made-from-scratch, never-frozen pizza, we are creating more ways for families to share a great meal, play together and make memories."

The timing of the refresh is notable. Family-entertainment-center operators have broadly accelerated capital spending on game floors since 2024 as operators learned that arcade revenue can serve as a meaningful offset when food-cost pressures compress restaurant margins. For Peter Piper, which positions made-from-scratch dough and never-frozen ingredients as a quality differentiator against larger pizza chains, layering a contemporized game floor on top of that culinary story gives franchise operators a two-pronged argument for visit frequency. With more than 115 locations across the U.S. and Mexico, the brand has the footprint to make a regional arcade refresh feel like a national statement — particularly in its core Arizona market where it was founded in Glendale in 1973.
