The Products

Knorr is rolling out two limited-edition SKUs developed in partnership with Hot Ones, the First We Feast interview franchise built around progressively hotter chicken wings. Knorr Mexican Rice inspired by Hot Ones' Los Calientes Verde targets medium heat with a tangy, zesty profile, while Knorr Cheesy Cheddar Pasta inspired by The Last Dab pushes into hot territory with a boldly smoky finish. Both products launched September 9 exclusively on Amazon in multipack configurations.

Pricing runs $8.99 for a three-pack of either SKU, $9.99 for a four-pack mixing two pasta and two rice units, and $14.99 for an eight-pack of a single flavor. The positioning squarely targets the grab-and-go pantry shopper looking for a fast, flavorful weeknight meal — the same convenience-driven occasion that drives dispensed-beverage and grab-and-go food sales at the forecourt.

Hot Sauce Demand Is Real

The collaboration draws on documented consumer behavior: Circana data cited in the release puts 93% of Americans in the self-described hot sauce fan category, with more than half reaching for it weekly. That demand has been a tailwind across foodservice and packaged-foods channels alike, and it represents a category that convenience operators have been leaning into — from roller grill flavor rotations to expanded hot-sauce cooler sets at the register.

This is Knorr's second foray with the Hot Ones brand, though the company describes the new drop as a step up from earlier sauce-and-side pairings. "Hot Ones has built an incredible platform around the idea that great food and a little heat can spark memorable conversations. That's something we completely agree on at Knorr," said Melanie Cappella, Knorr's Chief Growth Officer. Melanie Baker, Director of Marketing for Hot Ones, added that the partnership gives fans the chance to replicate the show's heat experience from their own kitchen.

Media Tie-In

A new Hot Ones episode tied to the product launch airs September 14 on YouTube, featuring an unannounced celebrity guest in the hot seat. The media activation gives the SKUs a built-in earned-media moment across Hot Ones' 15 million YouTube subscribers and 3 billion cumulative views — reach that extends well beyond a traditional CPG launch. For convenience operators tracking impulse-driven spicy-food trends, the viral content ecosystem around Hot Ones has proven to accelerate trial faster than in-store shelf placement alone.

The limited-edition structure also signals a scarcity play familiar to c-store operators who have used LTO programs in foodservice — from seasonal roller grill flavors to limited dispensed-beverage launches — to drive basket size and repeat visits. Whether Knorr expands the line to brick-and-mortar retail beyond Amazon will depend on sell-through velocity during the initial drop window. For category managers watching the spicy-food trend, this launch is a useful data point on how CPG brands are testing heat-forward innovation through direct-to-consumer channels before committing to broader retail distribution.
