The Card Structure

Harris Teeter has launched the Harris Teeter Rewards World Elite Mastercard®, a co-branded credit card designed to deepen loyalty engagement at its grocery and fuel locations. The Kroger subsidiary operates more than 250 stores and 85 fuel centers across North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Maryland, Delaware, Florida, and the District of Columbia.

The no-annual-fee card earns up to 5X points on purchases made through the Harris Teeter website and app, 4X points at participating Harris Teeter fuel pumps, and up to 3X points on in-store grocery purchases. Cardholders also earn 2X points on dining, utilities, and travel, and 1X points on all other eligible Mastercard purchases. Points are automatically linked to existing loyalty accounts and do not expire while the account remains active and in good standing.

Forecourt and Delivery Perks

The fuel-earning tier is the sharpest hook for price-sensitive shoppers. With retail fuel prices remaining a top-of-mind expense for most households, the 4X multiplier at Harris Teeter's forecourt locations gives the card a direct compete angle against other grocery-anchored fuel-rewards programs — including those run by Kroger banner peers. Cardholders also receive a complimentary HT Plus membership, which includes free next-day delivery on orders of $35 or more, subject to availability.

Eligible new cardholders can earn a $100 welcome bonus after $750 in net spend outside Harris Teeter and Kroger channels within 90 days of account opening. A $10 annual birthday reward rounds out the introductory offer.

Technology and Operator Implications

The card is powered by Imprint, the payments and loyalty platform that also backs co-branded programs for Shell and Kroger, among others. Customers can apply, manage, and redeem through the Harris Teeter app, consolidating the earn-and-redeem loop in a single digital interface. Imprint reports more than two million members nationwide across its partner network.

For convenience and fuel retailers watching the competitive grocery-fuel overlap, the launch signals continued investment by large-format grocery chains in forecourt loyalty mechanics that have long been a c-store differentiator. Programs that tie fuel discounts to inside-basket spend — whether at a grocery pump or a c-store forecourt — are increasingly the baseline expectation among loyalty members. Operators benchmarking their own loyalty program structures will note Harris Teeter's decision to integrate the credit card earn rate directly into its existing points ecosystem rather than running a parallel rewards currency.

Danna Robinson, director of corporate affairs and customer relations for Harris Teeter, said the card gives customers "more ways to earn meaningful rewards on everyday purchases, with the flexibility to save on groceries, fuel or both." The card is issued by First Bank & Trust under a Mastercard license and operated by Imprint Payments, Inc. For retailers tracking how grocery-fuel convergence is reshaping the competitive landscape, Harris Teeter's move adds another data point to a well-established trend.
